This is the time of endings and new beginnings. I love the fall! Next month we, some women friends who've shared dreams for many years, some new women doing inner exploration, and maybe some women interested in all this from the Experimental College, are going to Port Townsend, to spend a weekend just sharing 'dreamed' stories with each other. It's been our way, taking an opportunity for the company of like-minded women, to have reflection, slowness of time and the space just to be, more consciously. My current efforts toward waking into life (that's never done, is it?) have been taking my personal time and energy; they are also making me more eager for another women's retreat; 'sounds good for the soul. Women have been going on these ventures to Port Townsend, now, since 1985, to go listen to the wisdom each other's dreams and share ourselves on that level. I discovered Port Townsend while working with a dream analyst there (simul-taneously seeing him and an artist & feminist Jungian-therapist in Seattle); those seven years, dream language became familiar. It also came easily to the women in the dream group, who learned Jeremy Taylor's process from me, or Montague Ullman's similar, more complex one. We've encouraged one another forward, and I owe these women deep thanks for encouraging and fostering the wisdom in me. Anyway ... more later. If you think you might want to come, go check out the retreat* on Facebook Women's DreamWork or get this fall's class information: DreamWise, meeting at Phinney Neighborhood Center. You can learn the process in the class, or join us for one of the Port Townsend 'Nurturing the Intuitive' Events: CE workshop, Oct 7-9, 2016 and Annual Women's Dream Retreat, Oct 28-30, '16. (Please, remember to say so, if you are wanting CE credits.) A Good Fall to You, Janette Similarly, my thanks to Helen Welch, Josephine Borserine, Carter Manning, Robert Bly, Russ Lockhart, Cara Newwoman and Jeremy Taylor. DreamWise, an Experimental College Class on Dreams
(^info-linked) UW Experimental College (< their web site) In the water–world of dreams, imagination trumps logic; and our own intuition is available. All of our wisdom is readily available, to help us realize the way through current dilemmas. In this class, we contemplate meanings of this personal ‘language’, side-stepping quick interpretations to use a slower, catalytic group process. This is a chance to encourage self–knowing, tap our collective wisdom and catalyze clarity on our lives through dreams. The instructor has 30 years experience w/ dream interpretation. Interested people are encouraged to come to as many sections as they like. The instructor will present core information about dream recall and the group process of exploring dreams.
